New Security Technology Being Tested at Two Airports
Southwest Florida International Airport and the Dulles International airport near Washington, D.C. are two of the first two facilities in the country chosen to test new airport security technology.
According to a report on USAToday.com, the airports were chosen by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and will test and evaluate new screening methods including iris, face, voice, fingerprint and hand scanning and new security door detection systems. Additional measures taken will include advanced video processing, digital, closed-circuit television monitoring and more.
In all, seventy-five of the nation’s 429 airports applied for the option.
