New leaders step up for NTA
January 6, 2020
Entering a new year, NTA members also have two new leaders: Catherine Prather, CTP, stepped into the role of NTA president on Jan. 1, and Jim Warren, CTP, of Anderson Vacations became board chair at Travel Exchange ’19 last month in Fort Worth, Texas.
Prather, who has worked at NTA Headquarters since 1994, previously served as executive vice president. She also was the association’s interim president in 2014.
“I am excited, optimistic, honored, and ready to get to work,” Prather said. “I see that NTA will be a stronger association because our members will be stronger as we bring you more opportunities to connect and do business together.”
Warren, too, has a long history with NTA. He has been an active member and volunteer leader for nearly 30 years. Warren’s words in a letter to his fellow board members reflect his optimism.
“2020 is going to be an exciting year of challenges and opportunities for NTA, and I couldn’t be happier than to work with you to grow this wonderful association of business colleagues and great friendships,” he said.
NTA’s two signature events in 2020 are its tour operator retreat, Contact, set for March 18–21 in Anchorage, Alaska, and the all-member gathering, Travel Exchange, which will take place in Reno, Nevada, Nov. 15–19. Prather said NTA staff members and leaders will also conduct more pop-up events in 2020.
“We want to engage with members in their communities as often as we can, so we’re planning a series of Meet-ups this year in destinations across North America.”
