National Tourism Foundation Announces 2004 Board of Trustees
Roland Kreps, retired manager of group sales for United Airlines Inc., will serve as chair of the 2004 National Tourism Foundation Board of Trustees. In the position, which becomes effective in January, Kreps will lead the Foundation’s board of trustees in its efforts to support education and research contributing to the values of travel and tourism.

Other officers on the Foundation’s executive committee were elected following the September board meeting in Memphis, Tenn. They are Marilyn Bell, Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel, vice chair, and Chris Shepler, Shepler’s MacKinac Island Ferry, secretary/treasurer. Kevin Brewer, Memphis Convention & Visitors Bureau, also will serve on the 2004 board’s executive committee as immediate past chair.

Elected as trustees were Ed Hall, CTP, Greater Rochester Visitors Association, who has served the Foundation in various capacities including as chairman; Ted Nelson, Hospitality Tours; and Dr. Robert O’Halloran, Kemmons Wilson School of Hospitality, University of Memphis.

Returning to serve as trustees in 2004 are Becky Casey, Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc.; Linda Fort, CTP, CTIS, Palm Springs Bureau of Tourism; John D. Hunt, Ph.D., Hunt & Hunt; Ripley Hunter, GET Travel Corporation; Larry Sekuler, CTP; John Shaffer, Luray Caverns; and Mitch Sussman, CTP, Starr Tours.

Kreps also will appoint one trustee-at-large to serve on the board.
