MONTAGE Attendees to Return to Seville and Bring Clients
Nearly all report they will package the host city for future business MONTAGE attendees experienced downtown Seville on walking tours and Product Development Trips.

LEXINGTON, Ky.Seville and other areas of Spain captivated attendees of NTA’s MONTAGE, and nearly all reported in a post-event evaluation that they will now consider packaging travel to the area. MONTAGE provided Seville an ideal venue for destination education as 95 percent of the attendees reportedly did not package travel to the Seville area. In a follow-up question, 95 percent said that they would now consider packaging travel to the Seville area after their experience at the NTA event.

"MONTAGE was NTA’s first international event, and it was a success on all accounts," said NTA President Lisa Simon, CTP. "MONTAGE is unique not only because it connects travel professionals from around the world, but also because the attendees experience an incredible destination while they conduct their business."

The 150 travel professionals in attendance represented 14 countries. Of the registrants, 95 percent were the primary decision maker for their company. On average, each attendee made 16 contacts for potential business at the conference.

One survey respondent stated that at MONTAGE, "not only was my destination knowledge enhanced but I acquired even more partner resources."  Another said, "I made three or four really good contacts for partnering with smaller companies like my own. (Several) of us have asked a receptive operator in Spain to produce a tour that we can all sell into. That is of great value to me."

NTA will hold MONTAGE annually and next year’s event will be in Aberdeen, Scotland, April 12-14, in conjunction with the VisitScotland Expo. NTA will conduct its signature Product Development Trip the week prior to MONTAGE.

"The success of our 2010 MONTAGE and the positive feedback bodes well for Scotland," Simon said. "By partnering with the VisitScotland Expo, NTA will have business partners ready to meet with MONTAGE attendees. The business potential combined with the product development experience in Scotland makes for another productive business event for NTA members."

The 2010 MONTAGE evaluation was sent to all attendees of the event and all responses were collected anonymously.
