Feb. 21, 2008 – Korea is the 5th largest overseas source of international visitors to the United States. U.S. Commercial Service Korea and the Office of Travel & Tourism Industries is offering a Webinar on Korea outbound travel to the United States to assist travel professionals in learning more about this market. The online session will take place Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2008 at 6 p.m. ET and will last approximately one hour.

This Webinar will cover the following topics:

  • Korean outbound travel market to the United States (presented by U.S. Commercial Service Korea and Office of Travel & Tourism Industries)
  • Tips for success in the Korean market (presented by David Ruch, Chairman of Visit USA Committee Korea and General Manager of United Airlines Korea)
  • Visa process in Korea and Visa Waiver Program update (presented by Julia Stanley, Consul General at U.S. Embassy)
  • Question & Answer Session – Opportunity for you to ask your specific questions.

In 2006, more than 750,000 Koreans traveled to the U.S. and the number of visitors is expected to increase 27 percent by 2011. The average Korean visitor to the U.S. spends about USD 3,500 per trip and outbound travelers contribute over USD 2.3 billion in tourism revenue to the U.S.

Currently, there is a pending Korea-U.S. Free Trade Agreement. U.S. and Korean governments are working together for Korea’s entry into the Visa Waiver Program. Participating in this Webinar will help you prepare for this growing market.
