LAX Airport to get $9 Billion Makeover
Officials in Los Angeles unleashed plans yesterday to rebuild LAX airport at a cost of $9 billion, hoping to make it the safest airport in the country.

According to USAToday.com, the LAX plan would discontinue a passenger’s ability to drive through the terminal complex in front of the airport. Travelers would instead be dropped off at other locations and go through a preliminary screening before going to their gates via people movers. The airport would also have the capability to operate even under the highest terrorist alert level.

The Los Angeles airport project will be paid for through passenger ticket taxes, landing fees, airport facility leases and more.
