In Wake of Martin Fire, NTA Member Checks In
June 13, 2008 – Santa Cruz County is just one of the many areas impacted by fires in California. The Martin fire, near Bonny Doon and Martin Road by Highway 9, had destroyed 10 structures, torched 600 acres and was 25 percent contained late Thursday said California Fire officials.

Evacuations are in effect for Ice Cream Grade Road, Martin Road, Moon Rock Road, Smith Grade and Pine Flat Road. The existing road closures and evacuations are being re-evaluated. An evacuation center has been set up at the San Lorenzo Valley Middle School off Highway 9 in Felton.
