Hurricane Isabel Recovery Updates
The following NTA members have submitted information about Hurricane Isabel Recovery efforts in their areas:

As of Sept. 22, about 95 percent of the hotels along the oceanfront in Virginia Beach had electric power and were open.
According to Kelli Norman with Virginia Beach Convention & Visitor Development, the main bridges and tunnels in the Virginia Beach area are open, as well as the new Virginia Beach Boardwalk and the Shore Drive area. Most of the power outages are concentrated in residential areas.
"We’ve had no erosion and the beaches are gorgeous," said Norman, who also reported that the 29th annual Neptune Festival, set for Sept. 26-28, is still planned as scheduled.

Outer Banks (N.C.) Hurricane Recovery Information
Sept. 21, 2003 – The Outer Banks (N.C.) Visitors Bureau has updated its Web site to include important post-Hurricane Isabel information for tour operators headed to the area.
The Web site offers re-entry information for various areas, as well as updates on road conditions and contact numbers for news on road conditions, parks service facilities and ferry services. Access the Web site at http://www.outerbanks.org/.
Beach Towns Open, Visitors to Call Ahead
A little more than a week after Hurricane Isabel pounded North Carolina’s coast, some beach towns have reopened for business. Visitors, however, are still being advised to call ahead to specific lodgings.
Most properties in Kitty Hawk, Devil Hills and Nags Head were welcoming visitors. Ocean City, Md., was back to normal a few days after the storm. Most Virginia Beach resorts planned to be open this past weekend for the city’s annual Neptune Festival. (Travel Advance, Sept. 29, 2003)
