Homeland Security Lowers Threat Level
Homeland Security Director Tom Ridge announced plans today to reduce the national threat level from orange, or high, to yellow, elevated.
According to CNN.com, the move comes just 29 days after the threat level was raised, when President Bush announced a 48-hour ultimatum for Saddam Hussein. At that time, intelligence sources indicated that a terror group might attempt to launch attacks on the U.S. However, no such attacks occurred during the war.
