French Strike Halts Transportation
A new surge of French strikes is causing major delays in air, ground and rail transportation this week as workers protest the government’s plan to reform pension.

According to CNN.com, the strikes began to cause problems on Tuesday, when planes, trains, buses and the metro were running reduced services and causing severe traffic jams.

Only one in three trains are expected to run this week due to the strike, but Eurostar railways to Britain was expected to operate at almost normal levels. British Airways, Britain’s largest carrier, has grounded at least 90 out of 120 flights to France. Similarly, Germany’s central airline carrier, Lufthansa, cancelled 97 flights out of 138.
