Delegates Comment on New Exchange Format
The new open Tour & Travel Exchange is generally getting good reviews, with most delegates reporting that they’ve had more networking opportunities at this year’s Convention.

Here’s what a few delegates had to say:

"We had a good day yesterday, and today is shaping up the same way. As busy as we are at this time of year, the new, shorter format means that we only have to be out of the office for three weekdays, and that’s great. I like being able to chit-chat with people during a break, and maybe schedule a time we can talk longer later." – Bernard Dever, Curran Travel in Blue Bell, Pa.

"I think the suppliers are enjoying the freedom of being around on the floor a bit more. They’ve been telling me they like the changes and the chances to network more freely." – Gary Powell, Atlantic Tours Gray Line, Halifax, Nova Scotia

"I had a lot of concerns because I had almost 20 open time slots I needed to fill. But I was able to get about 10 of them filled, and that had a lot to do with being able to move around and talk to people more. I got to see some people in between appointments." – Gloria Parker, Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, Williamsburg, Va.

"I like the fact that everybody is in here at the same time. It continues the energy that we felt that first day when we were waiting on the doors to open. That energy is still in here. I also like the fact that I’m able to get a break from my booth and go around and say hi to people that I haven’t been able to see yet because I was busy with appointments yesterday." – Theresa Main-Kyzer, Little Rock Convention & Visitors Bureau

"The networking is much better because it is open, and you get a chance to see everybody. For me, not only do I get to meet with tour operators, but I also get to use this as an opportunity to see some of our own members as well." – Kathy Perkins, Shop America Alliance.
