Bush Administration May Require International Air Visas
In the latest move to tighten requirements to travel to the United States, the Bush Administration announced this week it might require international air passengers connecting through a U.S. airport to obtain visas first.
According to a report in today’s Travel Advance, airline officials discussed the idea in a White House meeting this week. U.S. airline carriers are protesting the idea, fearing a loss of travelers in an already struggling industry. The move follows an attempt by the U.S. government to require interviews from international inbound passengers before entering the United States.
