Bob Everidge Award Nomination Deadline is Aug. 25
August 8, 2006 – NTA is currently accepting nominations for the Bob Everidge Lifetime Achievement Award, an award that recognizes individuals who have made outstanding, ongoing contributions to NTA and its members. This will be the fourth time that the Bob Everidge Lifetime Achievement Award will be given and it will be presented at this year’s Annual Convention in Salt Lake City. Nominations are due Aug. 25.

The award was first given during the 2003 Convention to Lois Anderson, president of Gadabout Tours in Palm Springs, Calif. In 2004, Bill Shepler of Shepler’s Macinaw Ferry was the recipient and last year NTA’s legislative counsel Jim Santini received the award.

The NTA Board of Directors established the award in 2003 to honor the late Everidge, owner and president of Shenandoah Tours Inc., in Staunton, Va., and his lifetime commitment to NTA. Everidge, who died in 2001, served as president of the association in 1996.

Any person employed by an NTA member company is eligible to make a nomination. Nominations should be made for members who display active dedication to the mission of NTA and seek the best for its members; make extensive volunteer contributions to NTA and its members; consistently conduct himself/herself in a manner in keeping with the ethics, quality and sense of community espoused by NTA; and are involved in the travel industry beyond NTA to further the interests of NTA and its members.

Nominations should be submitted to Celeste Moore at NTA headquarters.
