AOL Survey Finds Families Booking Online This Summer

July 23, 2008  According to a new AOL survey, three quarters of U.S. families planning to travel this summer will book their travel online.

The survey also found that more than 7 out of 10 families plan to travel when school lets out for the summer, and three-fourths of them say they will book their travel online. Two-thirds of respondents said they had not yet booked their summer travel.

Nearly half of respondents relied on friends and family for travel recommendations and information, while 21 percent said they used travel books.

Nearly three-fourths said they used the Internet for vacation planning. Of those using the Web, 72 percent browsed search engines, 58 percent went to online booking sites, 26 percent visited consumer testimonial sites and 19 percent browsed travel information sites.
