Amtrak Rolls Back Coach Fares
Amtrak said Monday it will cut coach fares as much as 25 percent on many of its routes nationwide in an effort to boost revenue.
The railroad also launched its winter promotion, allowing companions to travel for free and offering a 25 percent discount for those traveling alone. The promotion may be combined with the new fare rollback.
The deals are available for sale today through Feb. 15 for travel Jan. 10 through Aug. 28. The new fares are available on routes including:
East: Carolinian, Palmetto, Silver Meteor, Silver Star, Auto Train (auto fees not discounted)
South: City of New Orleans, Crescent, Heartland Flyer, Sunset Limited, Texas Eagle
Midwest: Ann Rutledge, Capitol Limited, Cardinal, International, Lake Shore Limited, Mules, Pennsylvanian, Pere Marquette, State House, Three Rivers
West: California Zephyr, Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief
