Airports to Gain Increased Security Funds
Three U.S. airports are scheduled to receive a total of $350 million from the Transportation Security Administration to help cover the costs of increased security systems.
According to USAToday.com, Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport, Boston Logan International Airport and Seattle-Tacoma International Airport will be granted the funds to help pay for the installation of permanent explosive detective systems included in the airport’s checked baggage conveyers. TSA will give $104 million to Dallas, $159 million to Seattle and $87 million to Boston.
Congress provided the money in a 2002 spending bill as well as a second legislation that offered money for the war with Iraq.
