Asia-Pacific Outbound Travel Expected to Recover Quickly
The Travel Industry Association of America this week released a new report analyzing trends and insights on travel to the United States from the Asia-Pacific region.

According to the report, outbound travel has almost tripled in the past 10 years, coming from the 30 countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Seventy-eight percent of outbound travel from this area consists of short-haul trips. In 2002, six million travelers from the Asian regions visited the United Sates.

World events such as SARS and the war with Iraq are expected to take its toll on 2003 numbers, but an anticipated recovery is expected in 2004 and the U.S. should see growth in 2005-06.
